Rosebud Christian Church was established in 1898. The first meetings were held in an old log cabin that was located only a short distance away from the churchs present site. The church was named after someone noticed a rosebush that was budding at the time. The original church was built in 1900. This frame structure burned in 1944. During the next few years, the church continued to grow. Stained glass windows were added in 1961. These windows were donated in order to honor or remember a loved one. In 1963, indoor plumbing, lounges and air conditioning were added. Land was purchased from Polly Newsome and the Bowman family to provide for a cemetery. More construction was done in 1968 to add the educational wing, kitchen, fellowship hall and the baptistry. The Sanctuary was remodeled in 1973. The walls and ceiling were sprayed with plaster. New carpet was installed too. The old pews were replaced with new padded ones. Also new light fixtures were installed. Later, renovations were done outside. The parking lot was paved and new sidewalks were poured along the front and side of the church. An organ was purchased in 1984. This was done as a loving memory of Vietnam Veteran, Terry Bullin. In addition to the organ, the church enjoys a piano which was a gift. In the fall of 1997, the ground was broken in order to begin construction. A new 3 story wing was added. This wing was completed in 1998. Sunday School classes and the pastors office fill up this wing. In 1998 the church held a centennial ceremony in order to celebrate Rosebuds 100th anniversary. A time capsule was filled with church records, photographs and other memories. It was buried in the churchs cemetery. This time capsule is to be opened in the year 2048. Rosebud Christian Church is a church built by people. These
people have come together through the years to work hard and share their blessings, joys,
sorrows and most importantly their love for Jesus Christ. They welcome everyone into the
church to share this same love.
